Reader question:

Can you explain SR22 for modified cars?

Brian

Glad you asked, Brian.

In order to explain SR22 for modified cars, I have to first mention to you that there’s no restriction related to SR22 for modded cars, but you should exercise caution when modding your car because your premiums will go up, and you are likely already paying a lot of money fo SR22 coverage.

However, if you intend to mod your car, then you need to avoid doing it yourself, no matter how good you are at it. When you are ready to tell your car insurance company about, they will want to see receipts and the like proving these mods, and most don’t want to insure mods done by an amateur–yeah, even if you don’t believe you’re an amateur, according to them, you are.

And it is necessary for you to tell your company for SR22 Explain that you have modded your car and the types of mods you have made. If you don’t, it’s possible that they will not be covered, and you will lose a lot of money if you crash and break them all up.

Cheers,

Fashun Guadarrama.
