Reader’s Question:
I have two cars – one is new and the other is an old car. I have auto insurance policy on the new car. My question is, do I need to maintain auto insurance policy on the old car? If let’s say I am driving my old car, will my car insurance policy in Independence, Missouri extend its coverage on the old car? I am really confused. Please help.

Don’t be confused. It’s very simple. If you have two cars then you need to maintain auto insurance policy on both cars, regardless if it’s the new or old car. Your auto insurance policy on the new car will not be extended on your old car. And also, Missouri state law requires all vehicles driven on its road to have auto insurance policy.
If you are thinking on how you can avoid on paying too much premium, then I would suggest you do this. I also have two cars, wherein I have liability coverage on the old car and have full coverage on the new car. And since I am getting said policies for all my cars from the same auto insurance company, I am getting a discount for having a multiple car policy.
