Reader’s Question:
I am turning 18 this December. Since, I’ll be an adult, would this mean I’ll get lower auto insurance rate in Huntington, West Virginia. Because I heard from a friend that age is one of the factors that affect auto insurance rates. Am I correct?
Ramon
Huntington, WV
Unfortunately, you are getting it wrongly.
It is true that among car insurance companies, age is one of the factors that they consider in setting car insurance rates. However, turning 18 does not mean you are safer to be insured.
In fact, you are still considered a teen driver, thus you are riskier to be insured as compared to adult drivers. But in general, once you have reached the age of 25, car insurance companies will consider you safer to be insured. Because according to studies, drivers who are 25 years old and above are less likely to be involved in ca r accidents as compared to younger drivers.
So once you reached the age of 25, I would say you inform your insurer in Huntington, West Virginia, to see if they offer a discount for this age bracket. However, before you do that, make sure that you maintain a clean driving record. Because being 25 is useless if you have under your driving records several traffic violations.

Driving Without Insurance South Aurora Colorado CO

Reader’s Question:
I am moving to South Aurora, Colorado in a month from now for my new work. I just wanna know, will I be required to purchase auto insurance in Colorado? If I don’t have car insurance policy and I was caught driving will I be put to jail?
Maria
South Aurora, CO
Congratulations on your new job Maria!
The state of Colorado follows the 25/50/15 car insurance system. This means the minimum required limits would be: $25,000 for every person to cover for bodily injury, $50,000 for every accident to cover for bodily injury; and $15,000 for every accident to cover for damage to property
I am not aware if you would go to jail if you are driving without auto insurance in Colorado. However, what I know is that, if you are caught driving without car insurance in, you will be fined $500. This only applies if it’s your first offense. In addition, there would be a 4 demerit points on your driving record. Having this violation alone would mean a very high car insurance rate for you once you purchase one. For second time offenders, the fine would go up to $1,000 plus suspension of your license for four months. For third time offense, fine is still $1,000, licenses suspension for 8 months, and you may be asked to do community service for a total of 40 hours.
If you are having a hard time looking for car insurance quotes, you could try using this website. Just enter your zip code and you’re good to go. You’ll get so muh information about auto insurance rates in South Aurora, Colorado.

Reader’s Question:
I have an unregistered and uninsured car. I am not using it. I am wondering if I can park it anywhere. If I do, will that be ok? I still don’t have auto insurance because I’m still checking on different car insurance companies. I live in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
Miguel
Highlands Ranch, CO
I am quite confused with your question. You said you don’t use your car, if you don’t then I am wondering why would you park it anywhere? I assume that if a car is not used then it will stay in your parking lot all the time.
But just to answer your question, from my own opinion I don’t think parking your unregistered and uninsured car anywhere is a good idea. Most especially if you park it in a community parking lot because it is a public place, then the law enforcement officer can either issue you a ticket or much worse your car be impounded.
It would be best to have your car park in your own parking lot. And please make sure you do not drive around with an unregistered and uninsured car. Because if I am not mistaken, if you are caught driving without auto insurance you could be fine as much as $500, have it on your driving records and worse a higher insurance rates awaits you.
If you are looking for car insurance rates in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, I would suggest entering your zip code here. That’s how I got mine. Enjoy shopping!

I just moved here in Cheyenne. I’d like to know, what are the basic car insurance requirements in Wyoming? Is required to purchase auto insurance here?
Alice
Cheyenne, WY
Yes, you are required to purchase auto insurance in Wyoming. And not having car insurance while driving and getting caught means paying for fine, having your licensed suspended or worst, your car being impounded.
There are different auto insurance requirements in each state. For car insurance industry wide, the recommended coverage for bodily injury is for at least $100,000 for every person and $300,000 for every incident of vehicular accident.
The Wyoming state law requires every driver to obtain car insurance that meets the following qualifications:
For liability coverage, minimum requirement is:
* $25,000 per person for bodily injury;
* $50,000 per accident for bodily injury; and
* $20,000 per accident for property.
There are also different policies that you can avail; depending on what you think is best for you. Liability insurance for example covers bodily injury and damage to property. Cheap Teen Auto Insurance Birmingham Alabama AL
Filed under: Auto Insurance Quotes, Auto Insurance Tips, Female Car Insurance, Teen Car Insurance
Reader’s Question:
Do traffic violations, accidents, or bad driving record affect the rate of car insurance? I am just curious because I’ll be driving soon and I just wanna make sure that my dad’s car insurance rate will be at an affordable cost once he added me under his policy. Thanks in advance. I am from Birmingham, Alabama if that would help you.
Jenny
Birmingham, AL
Yes. It always makes your premium go higher and higher. It depends though on what kind of traffic violation you get into. So, let’s consider some scenario.
I have a niece in Birmingham, Alabama who was caught driving more than the speeding limit. After paying all the things she needed to pay and enrolling in a defensive school to remove the ticket, she was told to keep a clean driving record within the year. But unfortunately she did it again. She committed the same traffic violation within that same year, then her car insurance rate would went up to 50%-150%. In addition, if you are caught speed driving with 20 miles or more, it’s already considered as reckless driving, so that would mean paying even more than what you could imagine.
Now, lets consider being involved in a vehicular accident. Regardless of whose fault it is, it will result in paying for higher premium. Having several accidents in a year would definitely make your premium to go up and up. If you are engaged in an accident and you’re at fault, then that would mean paying for sky rocketed premium - it can double or even triple your rate.
Lastly, driving while intoxicated (DWI) is the worst nightmare an insured driver could ever have. This involves thousands of dollars for court fees, alcohol fees, lawyer fees etc. Also, this would result in an increase to your auto insurance rate to about 200% - 500%.
I just wanna emphasize though that those figures are case to case basis. It still depends on your car insurance company on how much increase they would give you on your car insurance rate. Always be careful while driving on the road, that’s the best advice I can tell to every driver. It pays to be careful and it will definitely save you not a lot of money but also your life.

Teen Automobile Insurance Arden-Arcade California CA

Reader’s Question:
I have an 18-year old daughter who has a registered car under her name but still under my car insurance policy. If she is involved in a vehicular accident and she is at-fault and the damages incurred are beyond the limits of my auto insurance policy, will the other party have the legal rights to run after me? I mean, since I am the owner of the car insurance coverage or will they run after my daughter? We are from Arden-Arcade, California.
Bridget
Arden-Arcade, CA
Insurance laws differ from every state. But since you live in California and you are the policyholder, I would suggest to check with you car insurance agent in Arden-Arcade, CA to clarify the specific details of your car insurance policy. You can also seek legal assistance to further help you with your question.
But just to give you some idea, what I know is that if your daughter is under 18 years old, your parental liability would be more since she is considered as a minor as compared when she reached 18 years of age.
According to parental liability law in California, parents or guardian are to be held responsible for any damages resulting from minor vehicular accident in an event that a minor is involved in such accident. This depends though if said minor’s license was signed by his/her parent or guardian.
